Gold and silver jewels of various shapes were found near the Sulky necropolis in Sardinia. One of the most beautiful examples is made of gold with so-called cloisonné decoration, a technique that has been used in ancient Egypt and the Middle East since the 3rd millennium BC.,it is performed by applying thin wires (filigrees) or strips of metal which are welded onto a surface to be decorated to form small cells (cloisons in French) into which colored enamel is poured to create a sort of mosaic.
The Tharros ring worked in this way features a circular signet adorned with a central flower with white and blue petals surrounded by five filigree rings, which in turn are surrounded by a series of small arches, also alternating blue and white.
A flat strip with filigree work is soldered to the signet, while two volutes are on the sides of the signet, soldered to the strips.
